Jinks Durden, Engineering and Construction Manager of Pineland Telephone Cooperative, was the guest speaker at the Metter Kiwanis Club meeting. Mr. Durden has been with Pineland Telephone for 27 years. He gave a history of the company and spoke of the many changes he′s seen while at Pineland. The Cooperative was established in 1951. By the end of 1953 there were 1,383 subscribers. At the end of 2005 the Cooperative was serving approximately 13,000 customers in 11 counties. Pineland Telephone Cooperative provides employment to 71 employees. Services include phone, internet, and now TV service. Jinks Durden is pictured with Kiwanian Shane Hadden.
