On Jan 10, 2005 Chairman of Candler County Commissioners, Kent Campbell spoke to the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Campbell informed the club of some of the issues he would like to address as he assumes his new position as Chairman. He stated that he would like to see the E911 issue come to fruition in the county. Also he stated that the county needs zoning laws in place and that the county working with city officials hopes to bring in industry in order to lower millage rates. He also stated that he will try to make sure the county roads are scraped more often and the ditches cleaned out. He also welcomed any feedback from citizens.
