Sheran Wilcox, Co-Chairman of the local American Red Cross Blood Drive was the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club.  She informed the club of  the critical need for blood.  Donations have dropped drastically due to the deployment of the military; also many drives were cancelled due to the hurricane in Florida .  If every eligible donor would give blood just 2 times a year there would never be a shortage of blood.  The next blood drive will be held October 18, 2004 at the Metter Community house from 2:00 to 7:00 .  She would like to encourage everyone to come out and give blood at that time.
